Sunday Art in the Park

Featuring Boston’s most talented, mature, Black artists in celebration of Elma Lewis’ 100th birthday and in honor of her 1968 founding of the Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists.

The Zoo’s Giraffe Entrance by the Playstead Picnic Grove will be transformed into an outdoor painting studio. Come watch senior masters at work, interact, and admire their canvases. A raffle of donated pieces by artists Paul Goodnight, Lucilda Dassardo-Cooper, Carol D. Carter, Larry Pierce, Laura Palmer Edwards, and Napoleon Jones-Henderson will be held at the end of the event to support the Franklin Park Coalition. Giveaways courtesy of MassArt’s Center for Art & Community include Art 2 Go bags with coloring sheets originating from Franklin Park scenes. Handicap accessible. For more info call: 857-222-9066.
